Are you passionate about coaching, motivating, and guiding people to successfully complete design assignments? Do you want to contribute to the roll-out of fiber optic networks in Belgium as Head of the design team? If yes, we are looking for you.

Function

The Design Team Leader manages, plans, and ensures quality for the Design team's operations. They coordinate tasks, uphold standards, and drive successful project outcomes.

Here's a glimpse of your tasks and responsibilities:

You will be responsible for the resource planning, budget management, client communication to ensure projects are delivered within scope, time, and budget. You will oversee the quality of designs and provide progress reports on ongoing projects.
You lead the team responsible for designing fiber optic networks for a specific client. You assess priorities and capacities and distribute work among team members accordingly.
You act as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) and support the team in their daily work. This includes sharing knowledge, providing training, and giving clear instructions. You are also the primary contact for the client and other internal services regarding design work.
You ensure compliance with all guidelines and agreed-upon processes. Additionally, you critically review current processes within the teams and proactively introduce improvements and/or suggestions.

The perfect candidate

You are a true team player and act as a coach for colleagues, possessing the necessary people skills to provide recognition, support, and motivation. During busy periods, you bring rest to the team. In the initial phase, you are open to sit as well on the drawing board yourself.

You have previous experience in a team lead or coaching role.
You are perfectly speaking English. Knowledge of an additional language is a plus.
Expertise in fiber optic or design is a plus. Have you worked as a designer before? Then you have a big advantage.
You have knowledge of AutoCAD. Knowledge of QGIS or other programs (TKI) is an advantage.
